Are you Aware?

Organisations are generally required to obtain a certificate of disposal for IT equipment, electrical and electronic waste, under regulations such as the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations.

The WEEE Regulations require businesses to responsibly dispose of electrical and electronic equipment at the end of its life. This includes laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, copiers, etc. Your Organisation therefore require these certificate of disposal from an Approved Authorized Treatment Facility ATFs (AATFs).

Only operators of approved ATFs (AATFs) can issue evidence notes for the treatment, recovery or recycling of WEEE that takes place in the UK. The evidence must relate to treatment, recovery and recycling being carried out on an approved site.
